GREETINGS FROM LANCASTER, PA

we are exhibiting our clothing, socks, & earrings this week:

SPRING BLOSSOM QUILT FESTIVAL
CONTINENTAL INN
2585 LINCOLN HWY/ROUTE 30
LANCASTER, PA

spring is indeed on its way. here in lancaster county, the forsythia is in bloom, daffodils, too. every once in a while a magnolia struts its stuff. the amish farmland is a joy to behold. big blocks of green & brown blanket the land like a patchwork quilt. it's late in the day & we're unwinding from the show with a drive through the protected farmland. there are still a few teams of horses & mules turning the rich, dark soil before nightfall. with most of the heavy work done for the day, many farmers & their wives are out cleaning the yards, tending the gardens, pruning the fruit trees while their children play in the warmth of the soft spring evening. the farms here are so well kept, so orderly, so peaceful. on the country lanes were amish in their buggies, amish on their scooters, amish walking, & amish on roller skates. people would wave as we drove by. the slow pace, beautiful farms, narrow lanes, fertile land, respect for the land... these are the things that linger.
